A very strong free download from this US producer. With Paradise (to be) Regained featured on last weeks Robot Bodypop show, its easier to let the people over at Silenced Music do the talking for this free 4 track EP!
Let’s call this future garage? There’s a piano, syncopated rhythms, beat-skipping kick drums and spaced out vocal samples.
Lunova Labs (USA) made this release purposefully for the Silenced netlabel. It was inspired by a philosophical movement, called transcendentalism, which developed in the 19th century. Among the transcendentalists’ core beliefs was the inherent goodness of both man and nature. Transcendentalists believed that society and its institutions – particularly organized religion and political parties – ultimately corrupted the purity of the individual. They had faith that man is at his best when truly “self-reliant” and independent. Each song is titled off of a piece of work written by some of the leading figures of the movement.
The album breaths spirituality and mystery. I dare you to hit the repeat button. You’ll find yourself back on the moon.

Chances are if you’ve seen D-Bridge playing out recently you will have caught this deep number forthcoming on his Exit Records label and its arguably one of the tracks of the year. Absolutely storming. Production is held down by Mancunian soundboy Dub Phizix alongside Skeptical with Broke’N’English mic-man Strategy with a killer flow unlike anything you’ve heard in his previous work. It’s out on 19th December and all pre-orders of the vinyl version have already been snapped up! Check out the video filmed in and around Manchester and bag yourself a copy. On the flip is a track on a similar vibe named ‘Rags’. Incredible stuff.
We’re big fans of the Mindset Records camp, not least playing lots of their cuts on our radio show. Their latest release sees a 3 track debut from Troy Gunner. Instantly adding himself to the rich and infectious melodies present in the back catalogue, this teenage producer keeps you on your toes with each track. While the melodies carry you along the sonic manipulation keeps your ears alert. Rhythmic 2-step, atmospheric pads and rolling progression make this release really stand out, Dancing In The Leaves is a personal favourite but have a listen, make up your own mind and enjoy. Cop the release on 5th December.
Nights don’t get much better than this bill. Hit & Run is arguably the Norths greatest night keeping it tight and intimate on Mondays and now with the bigger events moving to Manchesters Ritz venue. Combined with Shogun Audio, this event sees Icicle, Rockwell, the mighty Break all playing alongside Manchesters Dub Phizix and Hit & Run head man Rich Reason. Hosts for the night are SP:MC, DRS & Strategy. Excited? You should be.

With the public’s disposable view of music rapidly increasing as we go further and further into the digital age, Horo want to put value back into their released recordings and in turn reward the people that still pay the most for their music. ‘Horo’ was a cloak attached to the back of armour worn by elite Samurai messengers in wartime. Capturing an elite tsukai-ban messenger wearing a horo was a coveted prize.The ‘Horo’ vinyl series is an exclusive limited edition series that will come as a pre cursor to a release by the same artist on Samurai Music or Samurai Red Seal. Samurai Music began it’s output on 10″ singles that identified us strongly, so we are glad to see the return to the 10″ format for these limited collectors items.
