Soundphiles Meets Dom Hz

Soundphiles continue the exclusive mixes with Mancunian bass music producer, Dom Hz. Doms live sets make it clear that the boundaries of modern bass music are there to be blurred as he moves through vibes with intent. Alongside his own productions and remixes, Dom is also part of the collective, Joe Kalius which fuses the minds of DJ’s, producers and vocalists into one live experience and his recent side project, Stak One, which allows him to be more experimental, is also throwing up some incredible results. Accompanying the mix is an in depth interview where he goes to to explain each part of this solid repertoire. Lock in.

BackTheTooFuture

Been sat here thinking of a way to justify these two guys awesomness but its easier to allow them to talk:

BackTheTooFuture is a new monthly radio show on EatMusic online radio dot com, presented by 2 incredibly handsome young men. In their occasional absence, Matt Cuz and Joefish will be drafted in last minute as 5th choice replacement pairing.
Specialising in electronic junk and stuff past and present and beyond, the show will specialise in electronic junk and stuff past and present and beyond. The idea being that, in specialising in electronic junk and stuff past and present and beyond we will occasionally succeed in playing music what is good and sounds like it has been made 4 billion gajillion years into the future. OR 4 billion gajillion years into the past. OOOORRRR anytime in between. Give or take.

A monthly show and always keeping the listener involved, these two are here to stay playing purely for a love of the music. What more could you want? To see them in action? Lucky you.

Watch BackTheTooFuture @ Justin.tv

The selection is as upfront as you’d like alongside the selectors personal favourites. Loving this show.

The Smashment – Mancunian Way & DJ Mark XTC NYE 2011

New Years Eve approaches and hundreds upon thousands of bass-hungry
Mancunians are looking for somewhere to skank their boots off into 2012. They need look no further. This night of positive vibes looks back over 20 years of clubbing history – from Ragga Dancehalls in Jamaica to Acid raves at the Hacienda!

Unity Radio‘s Sunday regulars the pRp Show will be kicking off proceedings with their Punky Reggae Party at around 10pm, so don’t be late – DJ’s Eezer, Tommy T and Dylan Reed will be bringing positive vibes from early doors with a funky medley of Roots, Ragga, Soul and Hip Hop.

Mancunian Way’s Marlon De Blanco will be hitting up the decks as we move into the midnight hour with back to back Club Classics. Here he is displaying his Old Skool credentials in the Hardcore Uproar music video featuring Trigga & Sushi (he’s the one in the acid face T-Shirt).

1NEJACK comes in later on with an explosive hour of up front 90’s Garage and Drum & Bass sounds. For those who miss the good old days of clubbing, when tunes were tunes, this is going to bring out some great memories. For those who missed out on the 2-step revolution the first time round, here is where you can get your education!!

Then finally from 1am the legendary DJ Mark XTC will be blowing the doors off the mother sucka with a HUGE Old Skool House set as seen at Eurocultured – Expect to hear tunes to excite your inner raver; It’s going to be like 1999 all over again!

Lunova Labs

A very strong free download from this US producer. With Paradise (to be) Regained featured on last weeks Robot Bodypop show, its easier to let the people over at Silenced Music do the talking for this free 4 track EP!

Let’s call this future garage? There’s a piano, syncopated rhythms, beat-skipping kick drums and spaced out vocal samples.
Lunova Labs (USA) made this release purposefully for the Silenced netlabel. It was inspired by a philosophical movement, called transcendentalism, which developed in the 19th century. Among the transcendentalists’ core beliefs was the inherent goodness of both man and nature. Transcendentalists believed that society and its institutions – particularly organized religion and political parties – ultimately corrupted the purity of the individual. They had faith that man is at his best when truly “self-reliant” and independent. Each song is titled off of a piece of work written by some of the leading figures of the movement.
The album breaths spirituality and mystery. I dare you to hit the repeat button. You’ll find yourself back on the moon.

Well put. Pick this up!
