Flying solo this week its myself Killian with a varied selection of beats. Theres some speaker-shaking beats in there this week most notably from Catnapp and the recent collaboration between Mancunians Virus Syndicate & North Base. Then theres some deep grooves from Kaiju, a roots vibe on the Hoodz cut and as usual theres a couple of freebies, this week supplied by Moth Equals and Subtle Mind. This weeks Robot Bodypop show serves up more freebies than ever. Killian selects cuts from fresh producers Panda and Geode, a double header from Quantum Soul and some jungle vibes from Hi Fidel Cartel. Robot Bodypop favourites Ingredients records presents the first of two various artists EPs set for release in 2012. ‘Mise En Place’ is the 2-part series and showcases some of the finest music signed to the label so far. Kodo’s ‘The Jackal’ has been remixed by none other than dBridge. The flip see’s duo Kinetic & Mark Recoil make an exciting debut with ‘Cold Streets’ which is a murky minimalistic tune, with awesome bass work and the Ingredients vibe. The release also see’s Villem‘s first ever remix & what a choice! Foreign Concepts ‘Jaipur’ was a huge track last year on the Recipe Book album and this remix has been supported by Friction & Break. Stealth & Stylus are another duo making a debut and ‘One Way’ is an awesome vocal led track with crisp beats and deep bass tones. Set to drop on September 17th on vinyl & digital. Bag this exciting release.
Jacques Greene and Koreless return for their second collaboration to date, this time on the Vase Forever label.
Koreless comes minimal and mellow as we would expect on the title track – a percussion track is hinted but those waiting for the ‘drop’ will have a disappointing time here.
Jacques Greene strikes a more rhythmic balance to the release with his particular set of skills on the remix ensuring a healthy future for this 12″ in many a club circle. We look forward to many more collaborations from this unlikely duo, who knows what they will come with next. An album maybe? Let’s see.
