The ever ascending London artist Distinction is back with another mighty composition, this time we are treated to a remix of Jesse Ware‘s track ‘Devotion’, which features on her Brit Award & Mercury Prize nominated debut album of the same name. Check the original to get a flavour:
The vibe of the refix is much heavier, with turbulent synths and a heavily side-chained bass swelling under a striking vocal loop.

In preparation for the drop of ‘Blue In The Face’ on the Don’t Talk To Strangers label, West Yorkshire’s lyricists Verbal Contact & Lunar C go back to back on this remix of ‘Get Got’ by London producer Distinction. About a month ago we featured a huge sounding Usher remix from London based Producer/DJ Distinction. He also recently smashed the main room of the legendary Fabric club at the Dub Police night there at the end of August. It was that set that inspired the first instalment in a new series of mixes.
/mikst#1/ is what DJing is all about, or should be. We are treated to a wealth of bass exploring early Dubstep stylings, Hip Hop, Grime and Trap beats perfectly melded together in an interesting and varied set, featuring a wide selection of artists from all corners such as Baauer, XXYYXX, Girl Unit, TNGHT, Redlight, Darq E Freaker, Matty G, and Diplo on the playlist.

Having started to experiment outside the confines of any particular genre, Distinction’s recent releases have sided more towards the influence of R&B music on his production, having released his massive ‘Swim Good’ and ‘Climax’ Refix’s, which have received support online from sites like Hypetrak, StupidDOPE and SB.TV amongst others. The tracks have caused quite a stir online & are set to appear on his highly anticipated RVST mixtape, which is to be released in the near future.

This weeks Robot Bodypop show serves up more freebies than ever. Wiley was never one for resting on his laurels and judging from the continuous stream of free downloads cropping up on his twitter account that is not about to change any time soon. He also gives plenty of opportunity to young up and coming talent – Priceless is the 16 year old producer behind ‘Crystal Clear’, a massive free download which cropped up on www.grimeforum.com and sb.tv recently.
