Amon Tobin – ISAM

This is one spectacular live show – If this guy drops into your town you would be a complete moron of a fool to miss out. Well, he was in London last November and we were totally unawares – So imagine how we must feel. Just look at it. 😦

We can only hope that there is a Manchester date in the offing some day soon. Badness!!

Ghostek

The stand out track of this deep 4 track ep from Ghostek is his brilliant collaboration with Rooflight ‘Leaving For The City Of Saints’ which is out now on Other Heights. Also included is a beautifully twitchy remix of TH’s ‘Die’.

Cop on and cop it. Download button links to purchase.

Also on Ghostek’s soundcloud you will find this sick free download – featured in this weeks selection from myself. Enjoy!

Lunova Labs

A very strong free download from this US producer. With Paradise (to be) Regained featured on last weeks Robot Bodypop show, its easier to let the people over at Silenced Music do the talking for this free 4 track EP!

Let’s call this future garage? There’s a piano, syncopated rhythms, beat-skipping kick drums and spaced out vocal samples.
Lunova Labs (USA) made this release purposefully for the Silenced netlabel. It was inspired by a philosophical movement, called transcendentalism, which developed in the 19th century. Among the transcendentalists’ core beliefs was the inherent goodness of both man and nature. Transcendentalists believed that society and its institutions – particularly organized religion and political parties – ultimately corrupted the purity of the individual. They had faith that man is at his best when truly “self-reliant” and independent. Each song is titled off of a piece of work written by some of the leading figures of the movement.
The album breaths spirituality and mystery. I dare you to hit the repeat button. You’ll find yourself back on the moon.

Well put. Pick this up!

Symmetry 009 – Break & Sato

Break returns with the latest release on his Symmetry imprint this time b2b with Gatesheads finest, Sato. Break opens the cut with the brooding ‘Framework‘. A deep roller with punchy drums with the crisp and infectious vibe we are coming to expect. Sato on the flip with ‘Clap Your Hands‘ which has a more musical and soulful vibe with some fresh vocals before the drop which takes the track right down and carries you through. Both tracks included on this weeks Robot Bodypop show, an excellent cut. Out now.

Aero

Aero is the brainchild of talented artist Aaron De Barra. Jumping from canvas to clothing with his crisp imagery, his t-shirts and sweats feature both creative character design as well as street culture-led inspiration. Bright and positive are two words that jump to mind when looking over his line of work and the one-offs and limited edition runs are quickly snapped up. Clearly a man who not only enjoys them as much as we do but its clear takes his work very seriously as the quality is also of an excellent standard. Exciting stuff.
