The Chestplate EP 2011

Arguably the strongest giveaway this Christmas. Label boss Distance features alongside Sleeper and District both with individual cuts as well as a collabo on ‘LV426’ which features on this weeks show alongside the District cut ‘Gutter’. A lot going on over at Chestplate and we’re excited to see what 2012 brings. Bag this.

Tracklist:

1. Distance – New Outlook
2. Sleeper – GTFO
3. District – Gutter
4. Sleeper & District – LV426

Ghostek

The stand out track of this deep 4 track ep from Ghostek is his brilliant collaboration with Rooflight ‘Leaving For The City Of Saints’ which is out now on Other Heights. Also included is a beautifully twitchy remix of TH’s ‘Die’.

Dub Phizix & Skeptical ft. Strategy – Marka

Chances are if you’ve seen D-Bridge playing out recently you will have caught this deep number forthcoming on his Exit Records label and its arguably one of the tracks of the year. Absolutely storming. Production is held down by Mancunian soundboy Dub Phizix alongside Skeptical with Broke’N’English mic-man Strategy with a killer flow unlike anything you’ve heard in his previous work. It’s out on 19th December and all pre-orders of the vinyl version have already been snapped up! Check out the video filmed in and around Manchester and bag yourself a copy. On the flip is a track on a similar vibe named ‘Rags’. Incredible stuff.

Sub – Babylon Calling

This experimental 7 track is Subs second release on the Syncopathic label. Following on from his D&B album, Disdained, Babylon Calling serves up deep and atmospheric dubstep with a nod to the roots of modern dance music. Already featured on the Robot Bodypop radio shows and with this being Subs first amble down the future dub path, we’re excited for whats to come in the future.

Mr Skank Sinatra

Young producer Dan Clapham aka Mr Skank Sinatra is but one of the young producing talents from Manchester and after only producing for a little over a year he is celebrating his first release. ‘You’re Right Here’, featured on the Robot Bodypop show, got a release this month on Morbit Records and we are loving it. Classy dubstep vibes on this cut with a remix on the flip are hopefully a taster of whats to come. There’s also a serious amount of freebies on his Soundcloud which show that this chap is capable of carving his own sound with future-led beats alongside root sounding dubs. We’re excited to keep an eye on his future projects.

Also forthcoming is ‘Herbalist’ which is a deep and relaxed roller. Check it out along with everything else
