Kusto | Pyongyang EP

Bank Holiday weekends can take it out of you, but hearing Kusto’s new vibes helped sort my tattered mental into a more manageable mess for the working week. Available on a ‘name your price’ basis from bandcamp (give generously) the Pyongyang EP stretches from ethereal atmospheres to rhythmic club bass. There’s a nod to the mainstream on ‘Raquel’ too which features an anonymous female vocalist crooning somewhat inappropriately over a dark sounding beat. The last track ‘Keep Rackin” ticks all the dancefloor boxes making this a formidable varied release. Pay as much as you are able and help the artist by sharing to your mates.

Rekchampa

Sometimes we make a musical discovery that makes us really, really happy – Rekchampa is one such discovery. Splicing a myriad of classic R&B samples over his glacial 2 step beats, this Atlanta-bred producer is making big waves across the atlantic. We hope he will be touring the UK soon!

Just listen to this live set from Awful Sessions. Skills!

Konchis & Loki – Trying To Sell A Bridge

Nothing wrong with a bit of hip hop. What am I saying? Hip Hop was my LIFE ten years ago. Unfortunately as time went on I kind of lost touch with the new stuff coming out due to it sounding too commercial, too polished and too bloody happy for my ears. Trying To Sell A Bridge is just the opposite. Konchis‘ grit ridden production perfectly compliments the unapologetic tones of glaswegian rapper Loki. The result is a deep blend of quality Hip Hop to keep the head nodding – and thinking. Free to download from Bandcamp right here. Bag it.
