2 Free Dubs

Just a couple of free tracks featured on the show this fortnight, both on a dubstep tip. Starting off deep, the first comes from Legend4ry with a remix for Sparc made back in 2010 which somehow never saw the light of day. With no prospect of a release he’s put it up for free download on soundcloud in all its glorious 320 kbps.

And lastly we step into some abstract filth from Posij, a crazy dutchman with a free EP entitled ‘Empty Lungs’ available from his Facebook page.  We featured the title track, but you want to make sure you check out the whole thing as its full of gold.

Reggae Roast – RR10

The 10th release on the vibrant UK reggae label sees ‘Show Babylon’ by Linval Thompson given the remix treatment. This collective thrives on providing uplifting vibes either in the series of releases or live at any number of festivals. This 4 track sees Dutch bassweight specialist TMSV on remixing duties alongside 3 dub and version cuts of this mighty track. Featured on this weeks Robot Bodypop show its yet another addition to a fine back catalogue and we’re already excited to see what comes out of release 11.

Hopefully you can catch Reggae Roast this summer as the 3 piece soundsystem takes to the road. Check out their website for more info

The Face EP – Disclosure | Greco Roman

Disclosure have experienced a huge amount of hype recently with their ‘Control’ rhythm which gained exposure from Zane Lowe on his show recently. It comes as part of a brand new EP which successfully combines club sounds with contemplative melodies, amping as well in the bedroom as they do on nightclub PA’s. This one is a release you will want to scoop quickly before everyone else already has it.

Divergent Thinking | Free EP | Bandcamp

A collaborative release from Kee, Dimitri & Dekoi has pricked our ears this week. Released for free on the Divergent Thinking imprint, this chilled and thoughtful release crosses a range of genres.

Kee‘s opening track is a euphoric atmosphere-drenched trip hop number. Dekoi‘s jazz influences and old school production values hold their own here with a diverse set of tracks from ‘Drifting’ – a smooth-as-you-like liquid DnB joint with a rainy afternoon feel – right through to the more jump-up garage sound of ‘Not A Cloud’. Dimitri comes from a more experimental standpoint with ‘Jazz Cafe’ bringing meandering piano melodies and distorted percussion. ‘Nitelites’ busted drums and driven bass is laced with sampled vocals and more of a synth-feel. Dimitri also lends his distinctive bass sound to Kee‘s opener.

This soothing EP will keep you cool on those hot summer nights and is well worth a download. Grab it and keep an ear out for future releases.
