Christmas was good to us fans of quality bass music. Freebies flying out from all manner of Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter pages.

First up is 3 tracks from TMSV. All 3 are solid and deep tracks:

“I wanted to give away these 3 tunes to say thanks to everyone who’s been supporting me this year.
2011 has been a very good year for me and I hope that 2012 will be even better.

Thank you for listening to my music, spending your hard earned money on my releases, downloading my mixes and coming to see me play…it really means a lot.

Sentinelese and Levitate are two of my earlier 140 bpm tunes, from 2007/2008. Smoke is from 2010.

Thanks and have a great 2012,

Tomas / TMSV”

Darktide Recordings presents Chik

Karel Průcha aka Chik is a young dubstep producer hailing from the Czech Republic. Producing since 2007, last year saw his debut album ‘Different Sounds‘ released the on Bullet Time label and some of his tracks were on heavy rotation on Rinse.FM. Now with several releases under his belt on Czech labels Elemental, Owntempo and io.lab he is embedding himself in the darker and more sinister dubstep vibe. A selection of free cuts as well as the mighty ‘Vulcanic‘ from Darktide Recordings should be enough to pique every dubstep fans interest. Moody soundscapes coupled with high production values make these a must-have.

Killawatt – The Overflow EP

With releases on mighty labels such as BlackBox, Subway and Wheel & Deal, UK producer Killawatt in conjunction with FatKidOnFire offers up this free EP of 4 dark and moody rollers. ‘Narco’ has a rhythmic tribal feel while ‘A New Direction’ has a more glitchy futuristic vibe. ‘Take A Step Back’ is a deep stepper and its all rounded off nicely with the ambient twist of ‘Slow Motion’. A favorite of the Robot Bodypop, keep your eyes on Killawatt.

District – Haymaker/ 3.5 Grams [CHST013]

Newly released on the mighty Chestplate label, Districts latest cut is a monster 12″. Deep bass and a weighty groove make this debut release a must-get. With the creepy and twisted metal sounds of Haymaker on one side and 3.5 Grams on the flip offering a more sparse and darker vibe this is probably my favourite 12″ of the last few months. Big things to come in future from District I’m sure if this is any kind of a taster. Bag it.
