Symmetry 009 – Break & Sato

Break returns with the latest release on his Symmetry imprint this time b2b with Gatesheads finest, Sato. Break opens the cut with the brooding ‘Framework‘. A deep roller with punchy drums with the crisp and infectious vibe we are coming to expect. Sato on the flip with ‘Clap Your Hands‘ which has a more musical and soulful vibe with some fresh vocals before the drop which takes the track right down and carries you through. Both tracks included on this weeks Robot Bodypop show, an excellent cut. Out now.

Aero

Aero is the brainchild of talented artist Aaron De Barra. Jumping from canvas to clothing with his crisp imagery, his t-shirts and sweats feature both creative character design as well as street culture-led inspiration. Bright and positive are two words that jump to mind when looking over his line of work and the one-offs and limited edition runs are quickly snapped up. Clearly a man who not only enjoys them as much as we do but its clear takes his work very seriously as the quality is also of an excellent standard. Exciting stuff.

Dub Phizix & Skeptical ft. Strategy – Marka

Chances are if you’ve seen D-Bridge playing out recently you will have caught this deep number forthcoming on his Exit Records label and its arguably one of the tracks of the year. Absolutely storming. Production is held down by Mancunian soundboy Dub Phizix alongside Skeptical with Broke’N’English mic-man Strategy with a killer flow unlike anything you’ve heard in his previous work. It’s out on 19th December and all pre-orders of the vinyl version have already been snapped up! Check out the video filmed in and around Manchester and bag yourself a copy. On the flip is a track on a similar vibe named ‘Rags’. Incredible stuff.

Sub – Babylon Calling

This experimental 7 track is Subs second release on the Syncopathic label. Following on from his D&B album, Disdained, Babylon Calling serves up deep and atmospheric dubstep with a nod to the roots of modern dance music. Already featured on the Robot Bodypop radio shows and with this being Subs first amble down the future dub path, we’re excited for whats to come in the future.

Seifer & Surgical – Subterfuge/Esthar

After their impressive debut tracks ‘Faberge’ and ‘Lucid Dream’ on the Sewn Deep EP Seifer & Surgical are back with two more solidly crafted bangers. This is out later this month on the up and coming Roots Recordings label on the 21st of December. Don’t be fooled by appearances – These guys are extremely intelligent producers who have crafted a brand new sound from a diverse range of influences. Preview the forthcoming EP below.

Paper Tiger – Send Me

As promised a couple weeks back we have a brand new release from Paper Tiger hitting our playlist. This 3 track EP is typically eclectic for the group, whose influences include reggae, garage, glitch and hip hop. ‘Send Me’ has cutty 2 step vibes, with a nice sampled vocal and a funky rhythm track. There are 2 versions on this cut, track 3 being the live version, all recorded in one take with no overdubs. ‘Ask Me How I Am’ is a the tripped out B-Side with a deeper vibe. These are some accomplished live performers and I will keep emphasising this – GO AND SEE THEM LIVE!!! This will be your next opportunity;
