The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of

I dont know about you but
the music I have on rotation often emulates whatever musical bubble
I’m currently floating around in. At the moment I’m going in on
deep hiphop and with sites like Soundclound
and Bandcamp having
search bars I honestly feel I don’t have enough time to explore the
amount of good work out there. Thankfully, however, I stumbled upon
Pawcut from
Germany. Lucky for you and me there’s
free downloads in abundance from this guy and the recent E.P,
The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of, is
just that. The beats are broken but still keep the head nodding
while the samples twist up your emotions. It’s both melancholy and
straight vibing. Piano licks are in abundace here and there’s
strings that make you forget you’re listening to hip hop.
Incredible work from such a positive producer. Bag this, it’s
beautiful.

Breakage – The Promise EP | FREE DOWNLOAD

Much like his productions, Breakage‘s output is sparse, yet to the point. Available for free by signing up to his mailing list, we are treated to three tracks in total.

‘Express’ starts in a deep and minimal house mode, progressively building to an innovative syncopated drum and bass flavoured crescendo. ‘Ass Up’ brings the deep tech house sound back into play before we are treated to the EP’s showpiece – a club house banger with all the right ingredients. A fitting climax in which ‘The Promise’ is truly delivered.

Look out for the highly anticipated third album from the digital soundboy which is scheduled to drop in 2013.

Transmission Collective – Lex E.P. | Transmission Audio Recordings

Born from the combined talents of Wolf Cub, Kahwe and Maru, the Leeds based Transmission Collective set things off in style with their debut. Released on their own Transmission Audio Recordings imprint, the focus is on classic house with a deep and laid back groove.

‘Lex’ is a mellow and funky summer jam with danceable beats and a nice vocal. ‘Reverie’ is on a blazed out dubby vibe with perpetuating delays and the occasional tripped break in percussion. ‘Trell’, a promotional free download, finishes the EP off with shuffling beats and a catchy vocal. Watch out for the release.

Venture – Autumn Sun | Deep Heads FREE DOWNLOAD

Deep Heads come through with a frankly unfathomable amount of quality free music making you wonder who the hell they are sleeping with to be giving away so many tunes from such extraordinary talent. This half step drum and bass joint from Venture is one such tune. Somebody got some seriously deep heads for this..
