About 1nejack

Electronic musician/producer and DJ from Manchester.

Free Tunes

Once again we are lacing you with stacks of quality future beats at the good grace of the artists involved.

Clueless‘ work rate is staggering, and considering this I guess it’s no surprise he has managed to put a full album of his dubstep creations together and released it for free. He has significant releases on labels like L2S recordings and Night Audio which you should definitely check for.

Amon Tobin‘s Surge gets remixed by Two Fingers – You can grab it by putting your email on his mailing list at www.amontobin.com

Regular listeners will know of our love for the old school, and hip hop was our musical bread and butter growing up. This updated version of Das Efx‘s classic definitely gets our vote. Vibes in abundance!

And now for some hype old skool vibes from Edinburgh resident Hostage. This guys output is just incredible. His soundcloud page is brimming with goodness and plenty more free tunes all of the highest quality. His new Listen EP came out at the end of last month and it is a banger! Make sure you check it.

We’ve had tracks from My Nu Leng on the show before. Deep techy dubstep bangers are what these guys breathe. Check their latest freebie here.

Jacques Greene – Concealer EP

If you are looking for a badman producer, Canadian Jacques Greene certainly resembles the e-fit.

Greene’s creations are always up front and ear catching – he has a knack of plucking teasingly familiar snippets out of old R&B or House tunes and recombining them into something fresh and unusual.

The highlight for me is the collaboration with Scottish minimal dubstep producer Koreless – If I was asked to come up with the most unlikely musical collaboration between two contemporary bass music producers of all time – I still wouldn’t have considered putting these two together – their styles are that diverse. Such a great feeling to hear their distinct individual soundscapes working perfectly together on the one track. Believe me, you need to bag this.

Kungfused – Something Special 4 U EP

Having signed ourselves up to all kinds of mailing lists and distributed our email address (robotbodypop@gmail.com) indiscriminately across the interwebs we sometimes lose track of all the promos coming in. Every now and then I will be sifting through the crap and the chaos that is the Robot Bodypop inbox folder and find a gem. Like this.

This was released to Bandcamp on January 30th (no info of any other release at the moment). It’s a 6 track EP and you can grab track 6 for free. Track 4 is the Neokortex remix of Toxic People which is featured on this weeks show – the intro is absolutely killer. Hope you like.

So we’re back for 2012 with another diverse selection of upfront future beats. Being a new year it’s time for some changes – The main one being the switch to a fortnightly drop from here on out – Doing a weekly show often leaves us with little time for much else – Hopefully we can focus more on quality of content rather than rushing to get a show done. We also want to bring in more exclusives, guest mixes and interviews for 2012 so keep a look out. Be assured that the blog will be updated weekly as ever to keep you in tune with current releases and events – don’t neglect to bookmark!

Todays podcast features cuts from the likes of BondaxBlynkBiomeBreroBoot, and a whole heap of other great producers whose names don’t begin with a ‘b’. Freebies include tracks from PaleWeeknd, Ghostek, Killawatt, DJ Craze and Sangam.

Enjoy.

Forthcoming and Freebies

OK first up is the upcoming stuff we’re excited about and it doesnt come any more hotly anticipated than Blowfish by Chimpo. A serious riddim. Its a dancefloor track with a nod to the original raves whilst staying dancehall. The most exciting cut I’ve heard this year. Yeah its only 20 days in so what? its release 005 from the solid Estate Recordings camp and it drops on the 30th January. Check it, bag it, play it, bodypop to it. Featured on this weeks Robot Bodypop show. Ruff!

Chimpo Soundcloud

Next up is the forthcoming release on Ingredients Records.

The label had a solid year in 2011 and continue the pressure with Ingredients 025 from Krakota.

Side A serves up ‘Scraper’. Coming with the punchy snares and deep subs this track is as infectious as much as it is a reminder of the finer years of the neuro-jungle made popular by Ed Rush & Optical.

‘Tunnel Vision’ on the flip offers up a rich D&B roller that builds and skips through some smooth synths which has been on rotation all week at the Robot Bodypop.

Catch the freebie by Krakota; Be Myself VIP on his Soundcloud also featured on this weeks show. Out on the 23rd of January. Don’t sleep.

Krakota on Soundcloud

On the freebie tip there’s a nice varied selection of gratis music in this weeks show – And we are pleased to present it all here for your downloading enjoyment. Big respect goes out to all the artists for their collective generosity.

First up, mancunian Pále steps back into the frame with this techy roller named Ruckus.

As mentioned on this weeks podcast, The Weeknd‘s free album has been making waves since last November with it’s unique blend of sweet harmonies, haunting instrumentals and dark lyrical content. Essential listening. Download from their website here.

Hailing from the North West Borough (where? we’re confused) Sangam crafts hauntingly deep music with future garage overtones. This mysterious and well crafted EP is a generous giveaway.
