We’re lucky enough to get a heads up on forthcoming releases here at Robot Bodypop, probably because we’re badman selectors of awesome music. With a couple of exclusives this week you can check out when and where to pick them up, which is something you should do if you know whats good for you.

Diffrent Records comes with release 013 adding Jekyl with ‘Drainpipe’ and ‘Blabbermouth’ to the strong back catalogue. The latter features on this weeks show but both sides of this plate are heavy. Dark and moody D&B just how we like it with both tracks standing tall as a sidestep from the usual stuff being churned out. This gets a release on 7th May with both tracks there to preview. Get involved.

Big fans of Utopia Music at Robot Bodypop with plenty of releases featured in the last few months and Utopia Music 008, due out on the 7th May, sees Mikal return with ‘The Chant’ b2b with ‘Headbanger’. The A side featured this week shows why Mikals moves have caught the attention from fellow musicians Goldie and Break amongst others. Jungle vibes on both sides with a focus on slick drum patterns. A serious plate with no fillers . Going places this lad. No lie.

TZR has fast become a favourite producer of ours featuring on the past couple of shows. Deep vibes and forward thinking electronic music makes this Seattle resident one of the scenes most progressive artists. Teaming up with the prolific FatKidOnFire boys they bring forward this fresh mix featuring some of TZRs finest cuts. Alongside some moody and sinister tracks from collaborations with Boot and Press as well as a selection from the likes of J:KENZO and DCult its a monster tracklist. Bag it. No question.

Darktide Recordings presents Chik

Karel Průcha aka Chik is a young dubstep producer hailing from the Czech Republic. Producing since 2007, last year saw his debut album ‘Different Sounds‘ released the on Bullet Time label and some of his tracks were on heavy rotation on Rinse.FM. Now with several releases under his belt on Czech labels Elemental, Owntempo and io.lab he is embedding himself in the darker and more sinister dubstep vibe. A selection of free cuts as well as the mighty ‘Vulcanic‘ from Darktide Recordings should be enough to pique every dubstep fans interest. Moody soundscapes coupled with high production values make these a must-have.

Qualmsound – Genesis EP

Manchester based producer Qualmsound is devleloping a deep and atmospheric signature sound evident on his new release entitled ‘Genesis EP’ out on Soulstep Records. Uplifiting soundscapes with a dolly mixture of synths and heavy subs make this a release not to be slept on. ‘Breath’ harks back to early dubstep vibes while ‘Etheral’ has positive and bright vibes to carry you through. Breath then gets the remix treatment by Blynk. Hearing is believing. Bag it now from Juno Records.

As well as this release there are a couple of choice freebies on Qualmsounds Soundcloud. Be sure to bag them whilst they are still free – quality like this should not be taken for granted!

Blynk Remixes

Over the last few months Mancunian resident Blynk has been firing off quality remixes seemingly for fun. This is an artist page you need to be watching, no question. Blynk makes dubstep with a difference that needs to be heard to be believed.
