Lando Kal – Maneuver/Run It (Rush Hour)

One half of the bay area future hip hop team Lazer Sword, Lando Kal’s solo work is an altogether different kettle of bass.

Dense instrumentation, analog synth and drum machine work, complex melodies, and creeping basslines are pooled from his musical obsessions with 90’s RnB, classic house, freestyle, garage, Detroit Techno, early synthesizer music, Timbaland, and… to be honest, everything in between.

Check out this innovative release on Rush Hour Records. Vinyl well worth a space in your collection!

Also peep this – a sick collaboration with london MC’s the Foreign Beggars. It’s tracks like these that put Lando Kal amongst the most innovative of his generation.

Brummie producer KLRGRM offers up this free E.P for download via Facebook. 3 bangers on here and the title track is a sweet dancefloor cut with some sub shaking bass alongside tough vocals. One to watch most definitely.

With releases on mighty labels such as BlackBox, Subway and Wheel & Deal, UK producer Killawatt in conjunction with FatKidOnFire offers up this free EP of 4 dark and moody rollers. ‘Narco’ has a rhythmic tribal feel while ‘A New Direction’ has a more glitchy futuristic vibe. ‘Take A Step Back’ is a deep stepper and its all rounded off nicely with the ambient twist of ‘Slow Motion’.
